Collecting leftover bones from making Birria, after finding out about her aunt’s sickness. The bone here acts both as a joyful memory. The bones represent migration and community. The bone is a cold remain that resembles death and the transition of a stage of existence. By using the bone as an artistic medium, Flor adds color to it and gives it a new life which continues in the paintings made using the bone. Sourced from a special meal the materials collect paint or clay making each marking different as the various surfaces used collect texture.
